There was plenty of action at Aurora Stadium for the SSATIS Netball Finals last night. The 1^st Grade Netball Final between Guilford Young and St Mary’s was a hard-fought match where St Mary’s overcame the odds and managed to beat the previously-unbeaten Guilford Young.Guilford Young certainly made St Mary’s work for their victory by playing solid netball at both ends of the court. But St Mary’s had an answer for everything Guilford Young could throw at them, and St Mary’s gradually built on their modest 3 goal half-time lead to end up victors with a score of 37-30 at the final whistle.

Well done to both teams for putting on such a fantastic game, a big thank you to officials (particularly Robert Gregg who is retiring), coaches and the supporters who came along the cheer for their school, and of course congratulations to the St Mary’s team for their victory.

Now St Mary’s move on to the Statewide Final to be held in Hobart next week.
