In less than ideal conditions, over 1500 students participated in the SSATIS Athletics Carnival at the Domain Athletics Centre on Wednesday 12 September. Despite the rain and high winds three SSATIS Records were broken:
Open Girls Long Jump – Jane Hickie (Collegiate) 5.71m
Under 15 Boys Javelin Throw 700g – Lincoln Arnold (St Virgil’s) 44.39m
Under 13 Girls 400m – Alicia McConaghy (Calvin) 67.35sec

Dominic student and Australian Para Athlete, Sam Walker, broke the Australian Under 18 f38 Shot Put Record in a distance of 12.82m.

All schools will now compete in the statewide SATIS Athletics in carnival in Launceston on Saturday 22 September.
